motherboarddeals.co.uk tracks the price of desktop motherboards on Amazon.co.uk and lists two kinds of deal: boards that have genuinely fallen in price, and boards with an Amazon Warehouse (Amazon Resale) offer. It is published by CentraServe Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 3191014).

Where the prices come from

Prices, availability, images and product titles come from Amazon’s own product data service for Associates. We check every board roughly every six hours. Each price on the site is shown with the date and time it was checked; the price on Amazon.co.uk when you buy is the one that applies.

How we decide what is a deal

We keep our own record of every price change. A board counts as a price drop when its current price is at least 10% below the time-weighted median of what it has cost over the last 90 days. We use a median, not an average, because a short-lived price spike would otherwise make an ordinary price look like a bargain. We never measure a saving against the manufacturer’s list price.

What we list

Amazon’s motherboard category also contains development boards, laptop parts, server boards and accessories. We filter those out and list consumer desktop boards only. Socket, chipset, form factor, memory type and WiFi are read from the product title, so an unusual title can occasionally be misread. If you spot one, please tell us.

How the site is paid for
