Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data motherboarddeals.co.uk handles. The site is operated by CentraServe Ltd, which is the data controller. Contact: [email protected] or the contact form.
What we collect
- Browsing the site. You do not need an account and we do not ask for any personal details. We set no advertising or analytics cookies.
- Server logs. Like every web server, ours records the IP address, time, page requested and browser type of each request. The logs are used to keep the site secure and working, and are kept for a limited period before being deleted. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure service.
- The contact form. If you write to us we keep your name, email address, message, the time and your IP address so that we can reply and prevent abuse of the form. We keep a message only for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. The form sets one short-lived cookie that protects it against forged submissions; it holds a random value and nothing about you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Third parties
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks. It processes the IP address of each request on our behalf and may set a strictly necessary security cookie.
- Amazon. Product images are loaded from Amazon’s servers, so Amazon receives your IP address when a page shows them. When you follow a link to Amazon.co.uk, Amazon sets its own cookies, records that you arrived from this site and handles your data under its own privacy notice. We never see what you buy or who you are; Amazon reports only anonymous totals to us.
We do not sell personal data and we do not send marketing email; alert emails go only to people who set up and confirmed an alert.
Email alerts
If you set up an alert we store your email address, the alert itself, a hashed copy of your IP address, the times you signed up and confirmed, the wording you agreed to, and the alert emails queued or sent. We use this only to send the alerts you asked for and to prevent abuse; the legal basis is your consent. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link and a link that deletes everything. Unconfirmed requests are deleted after 7 days; 30 days after an unsubscribe we keep only a hash of the address; sent emails are deleted after 30 days. The alert form sets one short-lived security cookie.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to our use of it. Write to us using the details above and we will answer within one month. If you are unhappy with our reply you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page.
